I recently did a repair on a mahogany desk for a
woman who moved here from Fargo, North Dakota.
A drawer had some veneer torn off the edge during the
move.  My client mentioned that she was just sick
about the damage because she had paid a craftsman
good money to refinish the desk a few years before.
She said the shop had a distinctive name...Wood
something.  I asked her if it was the Woodchuck and
she said, "Yes, how did you know?"  I told her I am a
member of a finishers and restorers guild and that the
owner of the Woodchuck, Steve Rundquist, is also a
member and he has posted on the forum from time to
time.

I did the repair and will deliver the drawers back to the
client this week.  I reglued the veneer and did some
burn in fills.  I had intended to send in before and after
pictures but I forgot to take the "befores" before I
started the repairs.

Anyway, I thought it was kinda cool that a Groop
member is repairing the work of another Groop
member.  (Steve, does this sorta make us cousins?)

I attach pictures of the desk.  The bottom right
drawer is the one I repaired.  I billed it as an
"unnoticeable repair" when the desk is viewed as a
whole and not an invisible repair.  The client was
pleased with the results.
