Thanks to all who chimed in on this thread. I picked
up some great ideas! I especially like Alan Noel's
idea of giving something away with your name on it
that your clients will wear! Just think...they are
paying you to be a walking billboard!
I am sending along a copy of the post card where I
write a short thank you note. The design of the card
was "borrowed" from the NY Greg Johnson who
used to be a Groop member.
I sent one of these cards with a handwritten thank
you message to a client and then a few days later
did some touch up work in his house. He said, "I
got your card. No one sends real mail anymore.
That was really nice. Say, how about you and your
wife come over for dinner and see how we have
decorated the new house?" He went on to say that
he has dealt with a lot of companies doing
cabinetwork, painting, floor refinishing, etc. in the 3
year old house they just bought, and I was the only
one to send them a thank you of any kind.
I guess it pays to say thank you. If nothing else, you
might get a nice meal from time to time.

Groop,
During our stay at a hotel, that was undergoing some
remodeling, we found these chocolates on our pillow.
It was a nice touch. I especially liked the artwork.
There are some possibilities here if you wanted to
invest in the chocolate and artwork. The biggest
hurdle would be promising to give them to the
customers.
