My client has a 40 year old rosewood plant stand
that has metal trays rimmed with wood to hold the
plants.  Unfortunately, the trays were not waterproof
and water leaked onto the rosewood veneered base
of the stand and bubbled the veneer.

My client wants the fine cracks and bubbles repaired
and the water damage removed.  Any ideas on how
the repair might be attempted? Sanding? Hammer
veneering?  Giving up?  I have attached photographs
for your viewing pleasure.
