I've completed the refinishing of a 1947 console radio cabinet.
The cabinet originally had a strip of ribbon striped "veneer" at the
top of the case that was actually a decal applied over raw sienna
paint.  I tried to duplicate the look by experimenting with faux
wood graining.  My samples didn't turn out very well so I gave
up and just stained the strip where the decal was a darker color.

Does anyone know of a source for wood grain decals?  I looked
as some of the radio restorers websites but I could not find any
wood grain decals listed.

By the way, the chassis of the radio were rebuilt by Carl Roberts
in Scottsdale AZ on the advice of Virgil Just.  He did a great job
and turned around the radio in just a few weeks. If you need a
