I recently took in a table for a repair.  When I flipped it
upside down I found an oval brass plate that said "DuPont
DUCO Pyroxylin Lacquer".  Does anyone know when this
lacquer was first introduced?  And what made this stuff so
wonderful that you would want to put a brass plate on the
bottom of the furniture to tout the finish?  And while I am at
it, does Mohawk provide little brass plates stating "Mohawk
Nu-Coat T Lacquer" or some such thing?
