Here is a job I started using Mohawk Finish Up. Will post after
photos next week.
1. Work out of truck in driveway.
2. Items needed, Festool Ro 125 sander w/ evaq. unit, Festool
280 grit fiber disk to clean cabinet doors w/ Simple Green, dry,
then use Mineral Spirits for final cleaning. Festool Brilliant
grits 100, 125, 150 to level checking ( use Festool concentric
mode setting then switch to random orbital to remove any sanding
swirls between grits.)
320 to scuff sand between 3 coats of Finish Up Satin on doors w/
Transtint Honey Amber added to color match to existing cabinet
carcass ( carry small bottle of flat and gloss Finish Up to mix
and adjust sheen if needed on satin. ) I use a foam brush to
apply Finish Up. Cut out dark mineral stains with razor and
chisel and use Mohawk toostie roll to fill.
Will faux finish using Konig Oak grain marker ( knock down color
w/ 320 paper if to glossy ) in damaged area . Let all repaired
doors dry 30 minutes between coats of Finish Up. Scuff sand
interior cabinet carcass using Festool sander w/ eqvac (look Ma,
no dust ! ) 400 grit. Apply Finish Up being careful as now on a
vertical surface using a water base product that is very thin in
viscosity.
Cost of supplies about $75. Time needed for job 3 days. Profit
$1600. Hope I did not leave any thing out. Any questions ? Last
jpeg photo is avg. condition of doors needing repair and
