Hi Groop,
We have three of these chairs in the shop that are in need of refinishing
or touch up at the very least, but we're not sure how to handle them.
The customer doesn't know what they are- I would guess bamboo? It
sounds hollow and is very light weight.
The finish is failing badly on the arms. I can peel that off with my finger
nail. Other places are worn off and some areas are sound. I tried TSP
but that only removes the grime. As a last resort, we will wash the
entire piece with the TSP and then spray lacquer colored with
transtints. We don't think it can or should be stripped with MC???
Has anyone refurbished pieces like this? I'd appreciate ideas.
Thanks, I appreciate.
