Hello Groop,
I recently acquired a solid piece of redwood carving that has several small
cracks throughout and a couple of larger ones. I have attached a photo
to show
the location of the largest. The string is taped over the crack in the
photo.
The piece was never kiln dried and only has a wax finish on it.
What would
be the best way to stop the cracking? I was thinking of an oil/varnish
mixture for
the finish so bring out the beauty of the grain - unless y'all have a better
suggestion.
Thanks
