In the 'building color' thread I was challenged to test
the light fastness of the dyes that I was using.
The two images show alcohol and water dyes from Lockwood's.
These are stock solutions that I keep mixed up, ready for use
so the colors are/were quite intense.
The two that faded the most are the alcohol dyes.

I just brushed the color on the light side of some luan ply,
so the dye really soaked and ran down the grain.
There is no sealer of any kind on the side
that was exposed to the sun.

Makes me think about what I am putting on the wood.
I have a few of the Transtints colors and I plan on
making the same test with those.
