Although I have been a member for some time I usually
read the postings and contribute rarely. I kind of think
of Groop as my Brain Trust and I have encountered
whopper of a "situation" that I definitely need help with.

To get a better handle on the problem, it would be
helpful to view the photos I sent. I have been told that
the material above the wainscoting is "carved linoleum"
but I have my doubts. It appears me to be an
embossed composite much like a embossed fiber seat.
There was a broken pipe on an upper floor which
leaked down and lifted the composite as well as the
oak veneer which appears to be applied directly to the
plaster. The veneer has buckled in numerous areas and
the client is looking have the damage  repaired at
minimal cost (Ha Ha!). I would love to get some input
as to restoration/repair procedures before I speak to
the client about the details of the work involved.
