I have an oak sideboard coming in for refinishing.
The grandmother (now deceased) had started to strip it
but never finished it. The heirs desire a medium oak finish
which shouldn't be a problem.
This piece is 60" wide and about 7' tall.
It breaks down into 3 major pieces.
I'll be able to strip the top and middle section in the flowover
but will probably remove everything that I can
from the lower section and hand-strip the case.
Don't think my ole back will let me wrestle that thing
into and out of the flowover (ever wonder how our backs
manage to get older than the rest of our bodies).
I didn't see anything very similar in the Pricing Guide and
managed to delay my own estimate until I had a chance
to look it over better (truth be told I needed your advice).
What do you think?
I find a date of 02-06 on the back and a brittle cardboard tag
that said Indiana Furniture Co, Louisiana.
The drawer between the 2 doors in lower section
is bowed top to bottom versus side to side.
Really looks odd but appears to be original.
Anyone care to guestimate a value?

Here's the oak sideboard finished piece discussed above.
Took 21 hours from disassembly to assisting the owner
load it into his pickup.
Broke it down into three basic pieces and stripped in the flowover.
Top piece took a little extra work stripping but all in all pretty easy.
Light staining and two coats of Woodfinishers Supply precat.
$875.00
