Hi Groop,
I've been asked to submit a bid to restore this water damaged 4' X 8'
pool table. It obviously will entail some unique considerations, and
would like your input on what to charge for this job, and anything
you can think of that may make this more difficult or time consuming.
I will be refinishing all wood components - rails, main frame
and legs, and at least one repair to a leg with a major crack.
I can have it dissasembled and delivered to my shop, then
returned and reassembled after refinishing for a reasonable $245.
The finish is shellac, and I don't think there is any serious
damage to the wood (mahogany and mahogany veneer).
The whiteish appearance is the crinkled finish.
The size will be somewhat of a problem for me. The rails come off in
pieces, but I think the frame is a single rectangular unit. I can make
room for it in my shop by moving a few things around, and with a cart
under each corner I can manuver it to work on one side at a time.
It seems doable to me, but I'm not sure if I'm considering
all the pitfalls a project like this can present.
Any suggestions are appreciated.
My initial thought on price - $1,000 to 1,200.
Many thanks,
Ron Drew
