Gentleman and ladies
I was recently asked to assist in the reproduction of a
finish schedule similar to the sample I have pictured
on the show page.
I am perplexed by the technique used to apply small
amounts of either gesso, drywall compound, plaster
whatever it is in a way that looks more like dirt and age
than a round glob dropped on or flung onto the surface.
Does anyone out there in group have an answer for the
application of this material? I considered apply, stipple,
pounce and brush out and may go that way but if there
is a smarter way I am in favor of using it.
Thanks for your help.

Thanks again for the input from the folks here in groop.
I have posted a picture of the sample that was supplied
to me and the brownish color sample I made for the
customer. We are waiting for approval (or not) of the
sample. I could not have completed this schedule in the
short time it took me if I had not called upon the well
of knowledge for a road map.
Thanks for time it took to reply. Because after all time
is all we got.
