I'm stumped as to where these chairs were made.  The joints are
new to me.  The owner says "the islands".  Sheraton style could
be Barbados.  Black walnut could have exported from the US,
England or France.  And the details - like the legs -don't match
each other, but the joinery does!

Any ideas?

There is some "writing" in a language unknown to me on a paper label
on the inside front rail of each chair.  I've taken it to two Indian restaurants
and spoken to a manager and a cook, neither of whom recognized it.
