This is the base ( 33" x 48") for a 6' x 10' banquet table. The
top of the table was entirely covered with 3/8" thick glass, which
over time, wicked water to the underlying veneers, twisted the
feet and destroyed the casters. I've advised the client to let me
refinish the top in Krystal - it's in a hotel- and remove the casters
from the brass feet. To make up for the reduction in height, I
plan to build a plate between the base and the top.
Now to the thorny part....any ideas on how to straighten the
feet? It's laminated, which is fine for making a curved leg to
support 60 sq ft of table top, but I can't figure how much torque
it would take to put it back straight. Or should I even try to
straighten? It'll sit better without the wheels either way.
Thanks!
