My friend Peter found a odd lookin pile of boards
in a guy's basement, and he naturally thought of me !

You ready ?

Tulip Poplar.
Not so surprising for our members in the South,
and certainly a well respected hardwood.

Big Boards. 1 inch rough sawn,
and 16 - 20 inches wide, all 10 feet long.
Dead flat. Big tree.

Big Pile.
50 boards total, about 30 wide ones
and 20 that are "only" 12 inches wide.
600 board feet conservatively.

Spectacularly Spalted. This stuff looks like rainbow wood,
with all of the natural greens and pinks of the tulip, plus all
of the creamy spalted sapwood, and black spider lines. Unreal.

So of course I HAD to buy it, and the old duffer who had it stored
for 15 years was pleased to watch Matthew (an able if not fully
willing teenager) and I haul this stuff out and up a flight of stairs
and 100 feet across his perfect lawn. Two full truckloads.

I planed one board just to see what it would look like
and you can take a peek on the ShowPage.

Now what I need is some idea what the heck to do with it all ??

I would like to keep a few boards and sell the rest,
so I put out a couple of emails to some funky wood brokers.

Anyone got any other contacts ?? I need the garage back.

Thanks,
