Hello folks,

I received an email for repairing a 19th century table in

Manhattan, details below. Pictures included.

What:  19th century British Colonial marble top table with cedar inlay, 36" round, 30" high

(marble is separate from base) pedestal base with four supports.

Problem: base has cracked vertically, one support has separated completely from base

section, small inlay piece has come off,  base looks damaged from below (mover damage)

Value: $ 3,400

Customer lives in Manhattan, West 140th St.

We would like the piece to be structurally sound (be able to hold the marble

top and take normal use) and be as noninvasive as possible.

Please let us know as soon as you can as our customer is quite anxious that it

not get any worse.  We are not aware of any humidity problems in the apartments,

but suspect the change in atmospheres and possibly damage by movers.

Let us know if anyone feels the same on this- it is hard to tell by photographs,

but we suspect this by the looks of the photo of the bottom of the base).

Thank you again!
