Groop,
Another update on where the students of the DCTC
Wood Finishing Technology program are at. We have
begun Wood 1015 Spot Repair I. They are furthering
their knowledge and hands on skills of color theory
with nick, dent, scratch and the declining cigarette
burn. As you can see from the photo they are working
on several colors of panels, as well as having them in
several different locations: at the base of the cabinet,
vertical in the vice, horizontal on the bench top.
For those who have been here before, notice that the
black cabinets are against the wall and not formed as
a barricade to create the old classroom. The new
classroom has been moved into the room adjacent to
the woodshop which allows more bench space for the
troops. Real carpet on the floor, dropped ceiling, new
projector in the ceiling, a new camera in the ceiling
that is above my workbench so that I can project on
the screen what I am doing at my bench. Not bad
after only 30 years of being here. Here you see Don
Libro breaking in the new classroom with a Shellacfest
lecture that was held here last August.

One person seems to be doubled over in pain next to his work
bench, and another one is passed out
on the floor next to his.

Mitch Kohanek replies:
Indrek,
If you look at the top of the picture, one of the
students is heading for the door.
