Groop,
A while back I removed the backing from a dresser top mirror. Sandwiched
behind the backing was an intact copy of the Pasadena Independent newspaper
dated 1939. What fun it was to read the news and scan the ads. Then it hit me,
why
not create a time capsule for the next refinisher. So... I added to the
"capsule" a
copy of my local paper, the Orange County Register and a note on my letterhead.

"If you are now refinishing this bedroom set and the finish has held up, I
would guess that the year is 2050-2075.
This set was finished with... (type of stain and finish).
My helper and I have long since passed away.
I have enclosed a copy of my local paper along with the one I found from
1939. What a surprise it was for me to find and read the older copy. I hope
you enjoy reading both papers.
I wonder what your time is like? Economy? War? Peace? Environment?

mirror gets broken first I may look like a sentimental buffoon.
