Hello Groop,
I gave an estimate recently. The job consisted of 3 dressers. This set
was in very bad shape . Many of the drawers have chips around the
edges. The face of the drawers have faux painted inlay and floral
paintings. Refinishing is out of the question.
I went back to the shop and decided this was going to be a major
restoration. I figured out a hefty price and then added $500 to the bill.
I figured that the customer would realize they were not worth the expense.
Well, she called to scheduled a pick-up. She left a 1/3 deposit.
Now I am doing a job that shouldn't be done, at least in my opinion.
My question. How would you fill the voids? Wood filler, Polyester
filler, lacquer stick, veneer patches?
I told her I would blend the patches as best as possible.
I know how I want to proceed but would like your input.
Let me know how you would tackle this job.
