Groop,
Over the years I have been frustrated with furniture that has analine dye.
We strip with B-7 and follow with oxalic acid then a water rinse. Afterwards
the color (dye) remains yet is uneven. I have tried bleaching out the dye
and end up with 90% gone and intense red blotches. I now tell customers that
they have two choices dark red or dark brown.
Does anyone have a suggestion as to even out the raw wood color with bleach
without killing the wood tone altogether?
I would like to start with a more neutral tone so the mahogany veneer can be
stained to a medium walnut.
Thanks for allowing me to pick your brain.
