Looking to the well for ideas/feedback on repair or
refinishing of the polyester finish on this table.

I have no experience applying or repairing polyester, and
generally just decline any requests for it.    However in this
case, the customer is ready to lose the polyester and
refinish the surface in one of my standard off the gun
sheens if I cannot provide a repair solution.  Turns out in
talking to them, they are not that crazy about the thick
super gloss finish anyway.

2 ways of refinishing this table that I see as viable.

One: Repair the wood separation with epoxy. Repair the
cracked finish with a sound fill material that will stay/stick
to the polyester (suggestions please).  Sand the whole
surface back uniformly. Recoat with 2k urethane system.

Two: Repair the wood separation with epoxy. Remove the
polyester completely and refinish with 2k urethane system.
In this scenario I need  a suggestion if it exists on what will
remove it chemically.  Its been years since I even tried to
strip polyester with an MC remover and all I remember
was failure.  If all else fails I could sand the finish off. I
have a Festool 6" Rotex sander that is a real hog for such
jobs.  That is one big surface though.

Thanks,
