I'm trying to get some ideas on whether there is a magic bullet solution
here.
These are dark spots in a dresser top that were caused by setting an air
cleaner on the top that had some rubber or plastic type protectors.
What is new to me on this one is the feet did not eat into the finish at
all. You cannot feel the spots. Also the dark color of the spots in relation
to the light color of the finish seems out of the norm. Usually when I see
reaction damages it eats the finish and leaves a lighter spot. On these I
can do a burn in and take care of it.
Is there any product that will reverse the reaction or draw out the dark
color?
If not, I am left to either attempt to block the dark color and try to blend
it out or just refinish the top. If it comes to this choice, I'll strip it
and start over. I feel pretty sure the darkness is within the film- not in
the wood.
Thanks for taking a look-
