I sure need any input regarding this table.
The finish is catalyzed lacquer and as you see in the photo,
some of the scratches are deep going to the veneer,
while the others are just deep;
with a few surface scratches and scuffs.
This table also has 3 extension leafs with scuffs and scratches,
one may have a chip into the veneer.
Here is my plan of attack.
Comments are welcome and suggestions.
1) I can strip this puppy and be done with it, re-stain, seal coat,
gloss lacquer, polish to a high shine. I can do it timely.
Or
2) I thought that I could apply color to the deep veneer scratches,
fill with lacquer, dry, sand down flat, use Abralon pads up to 4000,
then polish out. The deep / moderate scratches I could fill with
lacquer, dry, sand down flat, Abralon up 4000, polish out for a
nice mirror finish, and finny. I am leaning more toward this method.
OR ..
3) Is there a 3rd way I have not learned or thought of ?
Thank you for your thoughts.
