I received a four drawer chiffonier for refinishing.
A groove running across the drawer fronts creates the design and
separates the areas. The outside 2 inch strip around the bottom
three drawers is just the darker color with no attempt at graining.
The darker panels created by the groove angling towards the center
are faux grained with swirls to create a burl walnut effect.
I'm not sure what type of wood it is but there is no significant grain pattern.
What do you consider the correct steps in developing this design
from a striped wood base. (dye, stain, glaze, seal coats ect.) ?
Do you mask off and spray different colors or do you rely on a brush?
Looking forward to returning to DCTC for GroopShop II.
