This is a job I did a while back --
it's a special chair that couldn't be replaced.
The insurer called us and we were able to
please the customer, save the chair,
and save the insurer mucho dinero
over replacing an "irreplaceable" set.

Charred leg, charring being removed
and wood being replaced with 2 part epoxy.

Fully restored leg with graining and tone to match original.

Extreme closeup of the leg and faux work.

View of charred sections replaced and being repaired.
Notice the seat also had work.
The entire chair was not refinished.
Only the damaged area.

Close up of charred area fully restored.

Closeup of the chair fully restored.

Extreme closeup of repaired area and faux work.

Different angle on the repaired area.

Overall view of the chair from the front,
notice all spindles, arm and seat blend.

The chair was saved, the client was happy,
and the insurer was eccstatic over the
cost savings of replacing an entire "irreplaceable" set.
