This is a buffet we restored.
All the original stain is intact.
We did not strip it.
Once it was cleaned and polished the natural color came out.
We clear coated with shellac after french padding all the flat surfaces.
We believe this one to be late 1800's to 1918.
We found part of a page from a newspaper with stock quotes
inside the unit which helped narrow the time frame down a bit.
