Fred McLean - GA
Here was a challenge I had recently.
Re-veneering a White Oak Quarter sawn OG molded edge apron on a turn
of the century oak dinning table.
I did not get a before photo of the job. The apron had a vertical
veneer that was pealing off in several areas mostly around the bottom
edge of the skirt.
The first job was to remove from the apron from the table and then
remove the old veneer from the Poplar substrate.

The QS White Oak Veneer was
purchased from Certainly Wood (716) 655-0206.
These guys are great. Very helpful and they tolerate small orders.
Veneers were cut a little oversize, then edge taped together using
veneer tape. I also used a veneer softening solution to make the
veneer more pliable.

The main problem was clamping the veneer down and making it conform to
the OG substrate.
The solution for me was to use a vacuum bag that was tube shaped.
The bag came from Quality Vakuum Products. 1-800-547-5484
