Groop,
Over the years, I have tried dozens of ways to remove those little
bumps that seem to grow out of "off-the-gun" finishes.
As careful as I am, every finish has a few very little bumps that cannot
be seen, but can be felt when you run your fingers over the final finish. I
start to swear at that point and get out the 1500 sandpaper, 0000 steel
wool and wool lube. Then it is a fight to get all the minute scratches out
by rubbing with a terry cloth towel or a paper bag. The finish NEVER
looks like a real "Off-the gun" finish. Buffing makes it shine, etc., etc.
I HAVE SUCCEEDED IN MAKING A TOOL THAT REALLY
WORKS !!
See the sketch on the show page.
Any really good flat steel will work. The secret is the very, very sharp
edge that absolutely must be kept sharp. (Oh. Yes, it only works on flat
surfaces).

PS "Laughing out loud" with this invention :o)

If you can find a Iero plane that was distributed by Mohawk it
works well for the same.
