I'm starting on a project that will likely be the most
rewarding of my career in terms of quality and beauty.
The home is a little less than 11,000 square ft. on the
beach in San Clemente ( a few doors up from Nixons
old "Western White House" or Rancho del Cielo).
Almost every room will have some cabinet or panelling or
wainscoting, etc. The homeowner sold his business which
was manufacturing burled dash and trim for the Jags. etc.
He appreciates nice woods.
I imagine I will be on this home for the rest of the year (at least).
I started on this room today.
The paneling is pomeli sapeli surrounded by honduras mahogany.
The moulding is mahogany also but much lighter.
The challenge in this room is to make the lighter moulding
blend a little more with the mahogany.
The paneling and the honduran will be natural
but I will need to stain the trim to blend.
The homeowners don't want it to be exact,
they like a little contrast.
My question is this; would the Groop be interested in following
the progress of this project? I could take some progress pix with
some materials info and post it to the Groop from time to time.
I would try not to be too tedious but maybe you might be
interested in following this along with me.
Whadaya think?
