I'm just starting on the kitchen in this home that is loaded with
plastic plant-on architectural details such as friezes, moldings,
medallions, corbels, rosettes and on and on. I personally think
it's a bit too much for the style of the home. (For some of you
newcomers, this is a home I've been on since April).

I just thought I would do a little progress report and see if anyone
else has done much of this stuff. It's great for painting and glazing,
matching it exactly to the stained mahogany will be interesting.
They liked the samples I did for them but I still prefer wood.
I'll send pictures of this beam when it's done and
later the entire kitchen when it's done too.

The finish schedule is basically:
sand
stain (plastic and all)
coat (MagnaMax)
glaze/grain plant-ons
re-coat
glaze and/or tone as needed
re-coat
wet sand (360 with mineral spirits)
topcoat
stand back, pat myself on the back
get back to work on the rest of the kitchen
