Here is the finished product (well not exactly,
I sanded and put another coat on after I shot these).

I chose not to go too heavy on the glaze.
My intention was pretty much just to make it look like
the surrounding wood and letting the detail provide the relief.
These pics are with and without flash.

We made up a name for this style today :
Contorian
(contemporary and victorian!).

I know, you're now thinking "Victemporary".
