On the left hand side, you can see two light color kerfed grooves
and two darker one's. That particular board was the major errant
board. You can also see one light colored stripe on both halves.
Those stripes are the added wood which was replaced after
sawing and jointing the edges to keep the top at it's original size.
Note that the grooves are from edge to edge.
Also, unlike most grooving operations we do,
two batons were used instead of the normal filling of the grooves.
(that's all it needed)
This was due to the small area which was grooved on the one half.
The groove depth was about 2/3 of the thickness.
