Does anyone have experience with Eames arm chairs?

It is a wonder how the back and arm assembly is glued to
the base at two rubber pads. These chairs hold together for
20 to 30 years then the joints fail.

I tried to reglue using Gorilla Glue.
This repair failed with the clients first guest.
Has anyone succesfully repaired these before?
