Groop,

I had the pleasure to attend (for an afternoon)
the IWF annual conference and exhibition in
Atlanta on Friday. Wow, what a place.

The exhibit hall covered three large sections of the Atlanta
Civic Center (A, B, and C) and each section had three to
four levels and each level had well over 200 exhibitors.

I spent the four short hours wandering around exhibilt hall B 3,
seeing only 1/3 of the suppliers section and never made it to
any of the other areas. I had to get back to Knoxville, for five
scheduled pick ups at my shop on Saturday (read: pay day!!)
Next time it comes to Atlanta
I will spend the weekend and take it all in.

It was a great time, too much stuff to absorb
and only a small amount of it relates directly
to our needs and focus as restorationists (heh heh).

We were able to stop by the Finishing and Restoration Mag
booth and visit with Jim McCloskey

We had the pleasure of meeting up with Bob Flexner,
quite an enjoyable chap.

Alan Noel and Brian Webster

Along the way we were able to see a gorgeous woody
which made Brian drool ...

... as well as numerous incredibly gorgeous sales reps for many of
these companies. It made us wonder when will Benco catch on and
give us better looking delivery folk than the ones we currently get?
and will they show up at the next conference we have in Mitchisota?

At one booth we were able to finally discover
what attracted Sharon to Alan.
She had always wanted to marry someone
Strong, dark and handsome
and settled for one out of three.

The conference is well worth the $25 if for nothing else
than to be overwhelmed by the creativity of hundreds
of folks and to be amazed at the wide variety of tools,
implements, jigs and ideas for working with this thing we call wood.
Anything you could possible think of with regard to wood and
its production and there was software to design it,
machines to shape mold and fold it, tools to attached it,
glues to hold it, materials to package it and people to sell it.

Great time.
