The photos show another example of reproducing pierced back splats.
The old fashioned way, one at a time. Main difference on these is the
outward bend of the splat, but a simple form takes care of that.
 
Photo 1 - Shows bending form at rear for curved back splats, veneer
and plywood used to make up original thickness.

Photo 2 - Shows two broken splats with tracing on cardboard.

Photo 3 - Fret sawn splat with crest rail disassembled ready for installation.

Photo 4 - Both chair splats installed and in clamps.

Total woodworking time both chairs-11 hours
Finishing to back splats only-1 1/2 hours
