The Bed was made Larger.
These are the components which were used.
Note the two pieces wood at the lower mattress rail level. Actually
it is the same piece but 2 different views. One view how it will be
glued in, and the other view showing the mortise for the mattress
rail. We replaced the bed rails due to warp and they also needed
to be made Queen size length. The rails were set in with common
hooked plates, as in the original.
Total woodworking labor time-14 ¾ hours.
Total strip, sand and refinishing time-12 hours.

This particular bed only needed to be lengthened. This is the way
we chose to do it.
On EVERY bed we size convert, the modification is always
removable without destroying any part of the bed. If put back into
the original size, it will be only a matter of filling screw holes and
touch up.
