Is the joint indicated in the attached picture of this chair
suppose to be glued or not?  I have seen chairs come
in with and without gluing, nailed and not nailed.  I have
always thought the back splat should be allowed to float
(expand and contract) within the mortise in the top rail,
but now I'm doubting myself.  Please help.
