Howdy y'all,

Another leather desktop applied using powdered
wheat paste mixed with water and applied to the back
of the leather and to the wooden top.  Lots of open
time and sticks uh, like wheat paste glue.  I use a
wooden rolling pin and a damp softball size ball of
cotton to smooth the leather and get the air pockets
out.  I trim it to size before and after putting it in place
but before it dries.  Paste wax the leather once dry,
dark wax, and let it fill in any imperfect areas.

The drawer fronts were reveneered as too much was
missing and loose.  Some of the side moldings were
gone and remade but the missing curved side moldings
were cast using Smooth-On.  The feet and bottom
moldings were broken up and missing parts and
pieces.  The hardware was first soaked in lacquer
thinner to get the crud off then wiped with steel wool to
brighten it up a bit.

The desk is a reproduction probably made in or
around the 1920's era to replicate the English late
Georgian period partners' desks.

Backside has two doors covering what is now a shelf.
Some of the earlier ones had doors that covered
another set of drawers.
