In our shop I use the Dow HSII RTV CAT silicone rubber
molding product. I use it because I get a permanent mold.
I have a large inventory of Victorian swags and capitals
and one half naked lady that we use to embellish the many
large Victorian wall units and fireplaces that we work on.
When I see some element that I like I make a mold of it for future use.
I use a polyurethane product called mark 2 poly for the castings.
It sets up in about 10 minutes and ready for stain in about 1/2 hour.
I am experimenting with different colors in the mix
because it is a very white material the way it is.
