Here is a set of pictures of my fan taken several years ago. I have since started to place the fan at the far end. 12 inch duct goes out the door. The picture of the open seem is my fresh air coming back in. The fan was probably on a piece of plywood on a pad resting on the floor. We were doing a repair in this kitchen hence half the kitchen is masked off.
