Hi Groop,

I have a customer that absolutely insisted that I bring her Victorian
oval parlor marble table top back to life. I told her this is not one of
my forte's and she still insisted. I love the fact that my customers
have THIS much faith in me. The marble is basically looking dull
with a few (appears to be) cigarette stains on top.

Here is what I figured the easiest fastest way to do this
that will give me the correct end result.

1. In order - Wet sand with 600, 800, 1000, 1200, then 1500
2. Get my automotive buffer out and
buff with Norton heavy duty car compound
3. Buff with McGuires pro system taking each step at a time

The customer did NOT want this table to look perfect,
just refreshed and some gloss back .... WHEW!!

You can see from the pics that I did not try to make them perfect,
but only sanded out enough to remove some cigarette burns and
SOME scratches. The sheen ended up about semi-gloss and was
perfect for her. When it came in it had literally no sheen left
(sorry I didn't take shots of that).
She was thrilled and told me to get ready
for about 4 more marble pieces.
