The finish schedule is as follows.
The Honduras Mahogany receive one coat of
custom made ML Campbell Woodsong II stain.
Then the Mahogany received two coats of 1.5 lb. cut
dewaxed blond shellac (scuffed between coats).
Then the Mahogany received a dark paste wood filler (Bartley's dark).
Followed by three more coats of 1.5 lb. cut dewaxed blond shellac.
Then the mahogany was buffed/sanded to remove any imperfections.
It was followed by one additional coat of 1.5 lb. cut dewaxed blond
with Tinuvin (an exterior grade UV inhibitor). Then finally it was rubbed
with 0000 steel wool (liberon) and waxed with Black Bison clear (liberon).
The Honduras Mahogany was used for all the
end panels, face frames, trim pieces, and upper doors.
The interiors of the upper cabinets are Pommelle Saepele.
These interiors received six coats of 1 .5 lb. cut
dewaxed shellac (sanded between coats).
The Crotch Mahogany end panels and lower doors received
2 coats 1.5 lb. cut dewaxed blond shellac
(scuffed between coats), then one coat of dark paste wood filler.
The Crotch received 3 coats of 1.5 lb cut dewaxed blond
(scuffed between coats) and two coats of 1.5 lb
cut dewaxed blond shellac with Tinuvin.
Followed by a 0000 steel wool rub and clear wax.
