Groop and Kevin,

Here is the piano dolly that I built to move
the grand piano that I refinished.

The wheels in front are adjustable to fit stairs and curbs,
and the rods under the back wheels are the skids.

The slide board has the ropes for lifting and sliding the board
in and out of your vehicle. It is 73" long, 13" wide for 49" and
15" wide for 24", (this is to accommodate the wider portion of
the piano). It is carpeted only on the top.

The bottom has 1/2" x 1-1/4" skids that are hard wood
and DuraVar'ed. The ropes are 5/8" soft nylon.
The upper and lower deck are 3/4" and are spaced with
1-1/2" x 3" hardwood, glued and screwed to the top and bottom.

The tubes are 1'' water pipe and the outer pipe is 1-1/4", the
only two sizes that will slide inside each other in that size range.
The angle iron is 1-1/4 x 1-1/4 x 3/16". The skids are 1/2" solid
steel and the axles are 5/8". The wheels are super duper some-
things from the junk store, 4" in diameter x 1-1/4 wide.
Welds are all 7016 lo-hi. The adjusting nuts have "T" handles
welded on the top. The top boards are oak 1-1/2 x 2-1/2 and
are covered with medium density, non-slip floor mat.
