Groop,
Twilst doing a little veneering job, I made a veneering hammer and thought
that you might like to see it. The hammers are great for smashing down
the veneer and making really sure that all the extra glue is squozed out
and that the veneer is as flat as it can get.
They are a tool that every veneerer, ( veneerist?), should own.
I lose them and give them away.
Seems that I have to make a new one every job.
This one is made of maple.
One inch thick, two and one half inches wide and three
and three quarters long, cut to a taper on the band saw.
The handle is a four and one half inch dowel by one inch
in diameter. I turned this one in the lathe to make it more
comfortable to hold.
This is not necessary,
You can knockoff the sharp corners with sandpaper.
