I suspect this is may not be an original idea but I discovered the new
Craftsman stapler design is handy in more ways than one.
The new action is a big improvement over
the standard squeeze-type Arrow stapler.

Since this little baby is so easy to handle, I've found a new use
for the staples they shoot. They work great shot into the bottom
of chair legs for keeping the legs up off of the spray table just a
little so they do not stick.

Previously, I'd been using my brad shooter for this, but often
the nails bend over. A staple is more suitable, and with this
new design for the tool, it is much easier to use and control
than my old Arrow stapler.

I sort of hover the staple exit point of the tool just above
the surface I want the staple into and give it a shot.
The staple goes in about halfway, and seems to stay put.
They are also easy to pull out.

Some other nice things about this tool:

It's cheap, $20;
It shoots a 1/2" brad in addition to different staple sizes,
which is kinda nice on the road;
It shoots Arrow T50 staples, which are extremely available.
