While thinking of different ways to trim veneer this is what I came up with.
It is a variation of the router jig that I use to trim solid edge banding with.
Both the brass guide and the bit would be tangent to the edge. I think the
large radius of the brass guide would provide a large bearing area and
help smooth out any irregularities. The brass would also be soft enough
to have zero clearance between the bit and the guide.

This jig would not work on all molded edges but it would work on any
edge with a slight lip. If you used a down spiral bit and climb cut,
I bet it would make for a smooth cut.
