The top picture is from the center to the front of my shop.

You can see my "office" in the front left corner.
Space is of the essence as my building is 20 x 40
with a 12x16 tool room in the back for all the real dustmakers.
As I have no space for an "office", I keep the place pretty clean.
I receive comments regularly about how clean it is.
"How do you keep it this way?"
Duh, that's what shopvacs are for.
I also have enough problems getting a smooth finish without a lot of dust in the air.
You might notice my 20" dust collector hanging from the ceiling.

Our stripping station is in the upper right of the photo.
A small exhaust fan vents directly outside.
One of the bigger problems is having only 8 foot ceilings.
Makes you real aware of the lights when manuvering plywood around.

Our shop is just big enough for 2.
My wife has been working with me for 25+ years.
For the most part we even talk to one another.

The second photo shows my finishing room. 10 x 12.
The cart in front of the door used to hold baby grands when we did pianos.
It's great for laying dining room tables on.

Now for a quiz.
One of my work tables shows in the lower left in the photo.
Can anyone tell me what it really was?
The answer later.

The door in the back with the squre window in it goes into the tool room.
There is also a seperate exhaust fan in it.
With the curtain over the door and the fan on,
I can make all the dust I want in there and not have it in the shop.

I use water based finishes because I have no fire suppression and a strict fire department.
As we are sole-proprieters, I have no problems with OSHA.
This is probably the biggest reason I have never had employees.
Besides, anyone who knows me wouldn't work for me anyway.

Now the table...
... it's an embalmers table.
Tilts, tips and lifts.
On dark nights it even speaks.
So much for MFC.
