This is what I remember about John and Dirk:
John- "Come on Dirk Diggler!"
Dirk- "Where we going?"
You have to hear it to get the laugh it deserves. John
and Dirk are the students I miss the most from my
DCTC experience. I got to know them both very well
in class (Dirk was my awesome bench neighbor) and
also after class. I was Mitch's work study, and these
two jokers were ALWAYS staying late after class to
do something.
Dirk always had a bench full of tools and pieces of
wood that he was working on, and John was always
curiously visiting our side of the room to see the latest
and greatest tools and inventions.
Dirk and I got along very well because we both were
interested in doing and fixing many things. He is one of
the nicest guys you'll meet and he'll give you the vest off
his back if you needed it.John had a past in musical
instruments, namely Guitar, Violin and a Piano tuner. I
went to school to learn how to build guitars, needless to
say we had much in common. Also, one of the
friendliest guys you'll ever meet.
Shucks, if you two are reading this, I'll be in MN for
thanksgiving weekend and would love to see you if not
for a few minutes or a meal. John I don't have your
email - send me an email through the moderator.
Though all of Mitch's Grads are worth their weight in
gold, I've sometimes dreamed of an unstoppable team
of Gangsters taking care of any and all woodfinishing
Thugs- Mitch, Dirk, John and Me, the Fab Four.
That'd be a good time.We also had a good time on
Friday afternoons playing the guitars. I have hundreds of
pics from school, by the way
In the spirit of Dirk, his fire and his hobbies, here's a
picture of the bonfire from the DCTC class of 08 Grad.
Party. And one of 2 of his cars, And "Gunder's
Garage". And I threw in a pic of Mike on a table And
one of Don on the floor.
