Hi Group,
My name is Frank N. LaRoque and I'm 56 years old
and have refinished furniture more or less since 1972
when I left a career in mechanical engineering.
Before that I was a designer for architectual design firms for 3 years.
I have served an apprenticeship in a gun shop.
I worked in a blacksmith shop and mentored from a man
that threw a 3 pound hammer if you missed a point.
I have a journeymans card for machine shop/tool
and die maker and hold 7 certifications in welding.
I was the pattern maker for a local casting plant here
until they went out of business.
I do architectual designing for some contractors here in town
and design 5 to 7 homes a year as a hobby.
I build and design all of my own jigs and fixtures.
I am a qualified body and fender man who also paints his own stuff.
I was a general contractor and learned to build
from the foundation to the roof peak.
I owned a machine shop, (bad partner & lost it).
I had a 4500 square foot shop and employees for 13 years
and last year gave that up to move home to a 1800 sq foot shop,
and no employees.

Don't know if this helps, but,
I have seen the elephant and I am very good at what I do
and if you were to mention my name in this town,
the probable comment would be,
" I know Frank, does excellent work, but, he sure is slow",
(and I refuse to speed any job through my shop,
every one gets the same treatment
...excellence....guaranteed work ...and me!)
